APA (Alaska Packers Association) Museum
APA Museum is a cannery museum based on the history of the Alaska Packers Association (APA), a company formed to gain the market share in the salmon canning industry in 1890. The APA’s corporate headquarters were originally in San Francisco, California, but most of its canneries were in Bristol Bay, Alaska. The APA had two southern cannery locations at Point Roberts & Semiahmoo, Washington. Today, the APA Museum—housed in an original cannery building from the Semiahmoo operation—tells the story of the APA and salmon canning industry in Washington, Alaska, and beyond.
